After seeing another content creator, Jenise at @project_number_whaaat build something similar, I dreamed of building this table. I love the layers and textured, sturdy look of the build. To me, it could be modern or traditional depending on how you style it. I finally had the opportunity and time to build it. I'm already thinking of different ways to modify and change the build for different looks. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Here's what I built!
Using The Morgan Square, I was able to make quick work of repetitive cuts of wood. I used only 1x4's and 2x4's for the build. I didn't make any specific plans beyond measuring the desired height of the table which is 3ft tall.
Then it just became a matter of layering up the lumber and using a combination of glue, brad nails, and screws to get it done.
The most tedious part about this project was sanding the wood pieces and staining the completed table. I wish I had my automatic sprayer because I believe that would've been the best way to coat the wood especially through the slats. I just had to work a bit harder to get in the grooves. I used Varathane stain in Golden Oak.
None the less, I'm beyond happy with the outcome and I'm sure this isn't my last time making this piece of furniture. Take a look at the completed table below. Plus you'll have a bit of a sneak peek of what I've got coming to the Workshop soon. Be sure to follow me there for more!
Love the stain you chose. Looks good!
